We are delighted to continue our working relationship with Bailey Gomm and Pharmaron at Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire (Pharmaron’s UK headquarters of research and development for the life sciences industry in medicine and analytical chemistry). Following a successful project refitting two areas on the first floor of the site last year, we have now secured the next phase; providing all the MEP services for the refurbishment of half of the vacant second floor into wet laboratories and write up areas. Most of the new roof mounted plant is sized for the complete second floor refit including a 1MW gas fired boiler plant, 750Kw of chilled water and 17m3/s of fume exhaust, including specialist polypropylene ductwork. The 1200m2 area of the first phase refit will have 6 laboratories providing over 40 fume cupboards and a specialist laboratory for mass spectrometry and NMR’s plus the usual laboratory facilities. The associated dry areas will be for write up, office, meeting and welfare facilities. Bailey Gomm plays a pivotal role in this project providing the specialist MEP design and complete project management including acting as Principal Contractor.
