We have recently completed our first project under the Wellcome Genome Campus Framework upgrading the ventilation plant within the EBI East Wing Building. This is our third main contractor appointment in 2023. The project had its logistical challenges given the restricted space and tight access to the plantrooms. The building was also occupied over quite an intense 6-week programme. The main works required an upgrade of component parts to the supply and extract air handling units including fan motors, coils and filters to increase their duties and future proof them when user numbers in the building increase and when lower grade heat sources are introduced such as air source heat pumps. We also undertook various general efficiency improvements by installing new motors and associated controls.
