Congratulations to our in house HR Advisor, Ets who has spent the last two years studying for her HR qualification at the Suffolk Business School in Ipswich. At a recent event held at the University of Suffolk, Ets was presented with The Ron Shepherd Award. The award is bestowed on the student who has gained the most development on the Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management 2021. It is organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Essex, Ipswich and East London Branch and funded by the Ron Shepherd Trust.
The level 7 course required Ets to critically analyse arguments and findings, which was a big learning curve for her. Due to COVID, her annual exam, which usually takes a couple of hours was replaced with 24-hour time constrained assessment. Ets stayed up all night to complete her 3,000 word report. She did this for both academic years. Ets is passionate about employee wellbeing and her dissertation topic was ‘men’s mental health in the construction industry – barriers to help – seeking and effective interventions to maintain optimal emotional health’. Completing the course in her second language was an achievement in itself. Receiving the award was a wonderful accomplishment. Very well done Ets, all that hard work has paid off!
