Shoe Lane

As part of our refurbishment works at 66 Shoe Lane with main contractor, ISG, we recently carried out the first of three crane lifts planned for the project.

Together with the necessary weekend road closures, the crane lift entailed moving part of the roof equipment from the ground floor to the 9th floor east roof.

Included within the crane lift were 3 No. chillers providing over 1.6mw of chiller power, 3 No. boilers providing 1.2mw of boiler power and 9 No. main pumps along with various ancillaries.

The design and selection of the roof plant was critical due to the limitations of the existing structure, which meant that there was less than 100mm space above the units and 300mm at the ends.

The next scheduled crane lift will include two of the 4 No. air handling units, main ductwork sections, and associated pipeline equipment.

Placing the main equipment in position is an important milestone in the progress of our £6m mechanical package on this significant 9 floor commercial office fit out scheme which is due for completion early summer 2020.
