The project involved the installation of 1 megawatt of biomass boilers inside an existing building within the college, including a 19m high external flue and wood pellet silos in a restricted working space.

The programme was extremely fast track and was delivered collaboratively with the Main Contractor and other stakeholders.

The external heating mains and new heating pipework was installed to serve 3 No. shell and tube heat exchangers to remote buildings, once the existing boiler plant had been removed.

New controls were provided for the installation together with modification to the existing fire alarm system and lightning protection for the boiler flues and silos.
