Somerlese – Highgate, North London
Bower Fuller was appointed by main contractor and client Rockbridge Construction to carry out the full mechanical and electrical services for an exceptional new four-storey 18,000 sq./ft high end residence in Highgate, North London. Designed by Christopher Treadway Architects and engineered by Cooper Homweood, the property demanded a level of quality, innovation and precision befitting its high-end specification.
The mechanical package included high performance VRF heating and cooling to principal living spaces and underfloor heating throughout. A sophisticated MVHR system serves the basement leisure facilities encompassing a swimming pool, gym and cinema, while discreet fresh air intake and exhaust ductwork is concealed beneath the garden patio areas and ensures efficient airflow without compromising the landscaping or architectural features. Complete domestic hot and cold water and drainage services were also provided to all kitchens, bathrooms and the garden room.
The electrical elements blended technical excellence with modern elegance. Premium LED lighting was paired with an intelligent smart lighting arrangement to improve energy efficiency and offer ambient scene setting usability. In addition, small power distribution, fire alarm, access control, CCTV and security solutions formed part of the scope. Sustainability was further strengthened with a 25kw photovoltaic array and a 13kW TESLA Power Wall for energy storage.
A bespoke audio visual system completed the installation, offering a seamless smart home experience with multimedia outlets, touchscreens, built-in speakers, AV outputs, and security control interfaces.
