This challenging scheme involved refurbishing two adjacent primary schools concurrently and within a restricted multi-phase programme.

The two 1950’s buildings provide the education facilities for around 800 children.

Working in partnership with Main Contractor, Wates Construction, we were responsible for installing the complete mechanical and electrical services.

Both buildings presented their own distinct challenges in terms of complicated and exposed building services routes.

In Northfields, high efficiency gas boilers were installed to supply the original radiator system and the hot water system. Conversely, Poplars employed air source heat pumps to provide heat for the underfloor heating system. Further energy conservation was achieved by the installation of solar powered vents to provide ventilation.

The electrical services installed by Bower Fuller include general lighting, emergency lighting, LV power and distribution, access control, fire alarms, data and CCTV.
