The refurbishment works were to upgrade existing meeting rooms and office spaces to form new laboratory accommodation to assist with the current expansion, a new cold room, meeting spaces and kitchen area. The project was over six phases allowing the client to keep the existing facilities operational whilst installing the new services, all on a very tight programme.
Bower Fuller were involved from the design concept stage with SDC and developed the design with assistance from KJ Tait. Our works incorporated a new ventilation system for meeting rooms and amending the existing ventilation/BMS for the new laboratories layout. The usual changes for wet areas included domestic water services and drainage connected to existing supplies with local drain pumps.
