Engineering Services for Buildings

Culford School – Various Projects

Culford School near Bury St. Edmunds is one of our long-standing clients in Special Projects. Our engineers provide a diverse range of services to maintain and improve the range of listed and modern buildings that form part of Culford’s property assets.

  • Technical and project support to the resident maintenance team, including analysis of life cycle running costs versus capital investment options
  • General maintenance and refurbishment projects
  • Electrical testing and inspections
  • Electrical installations
  • Upgrades to reflect the latest regulations
  • Mechanical installations
  • General facilities management support such as:-
    • The development of an innovative solution to overcome the issues that the school had been experiencing for several years in preserving their antique chandelier in the main staircase. We assisted by installing a winched cable system imported from Germany which now enables the chandelier to be safely lowered in a controlled manner to ground level for cleaning and maintenance.
    • Following a major fire in one of the school’s vacant buildings during the summer holidays, there was not only significant fabric damage but also a loss of power to several other buildings on the school grounds. Within a few days of the fire we were able to have all affected buildings powered up and ready to use while also making safe the fire damaged spaces.
