This project required a proactive, flexible and co-operative approach from the whole project team, to ensure handover was achieved to the client deadline.

As part of a 5 building development, the existing 3 storey Grade II listed building was completely refurbished and a ‘Garden Room’ was added, under which was located the plantroom and a hidden escape tunnel.

The main source of heating is a ground source heat pump system fed via 2 bore holes, coupled to an underfloor heating system.

Additional buildings include an indoor pool and sauna complex, which also contains an underground gym and treatment room, as well as an extensive Guest Lodge. A Cart Lodge for 3 cars also provides first floor bodyguard accommodation.

An outdoor pool compliments the conversion of a ‘Granary Building’ into a games and lounge area with mezzanine floor and an extensive underground wine cellar, home cinema and roulette room.

Due to the developing nature of the project, Bower Fuller were selected via a competitive fee and prelim cost and interview process.

As well as installing the heating, plumbing, power and lighting services throughout the development, other systems installed included, fire alarm, data, security, extensive audio visual systems, BMS control and air conditioning.

Although not a D & B contract, we worked alongside the consultants to develop workable integrated solutions. An example of which is ensuring that the touch pad controller supplied as part of the ‘Audio Visual’ package would enable the BMS and long air conditioning control system to be operated. This was achieved by facilitating factory visits and technical meetings between the various parties to ensure the BMS would interface with the air conditioning, via the AV touchpad, before it got to site.
