Engineering Services for Buildings

Addenbrookes Hospital, Modular Theatres 20 and 21

Continuing the close relationship with the hospital trust, Bower Fuller was awarded this project to install both the electrical and mechanical services to two new modular theatres. Working closely with ISG, the main contractor, and design Consultant MLM from an early stage Bower Fuller was able to contribute on buildability and value engineering of the scheme.

Bower Fuller was responsible for connecting the existing services within the hospital to the new services of the modular theatres including medical gases, mechanical ventilation, domestic hot and cold water services, chilled water services and steam services.

Electrically, the project involved connecting the mains power supply, ups, mechanical power supplies, fire alarm, theatre emergency call system and the surgeon panels.

Despite the fast track programme and logistical constraints, the project was completed to the requisite timing and financial targets thanks to close collaboration between all partners associated with the project team.
