Handovers

Brentwood School in Essex and Culford School in Suffolk are two library based developments. The Brentwood scheme centres around the Cunliffe building which is home to Classics learning within the school and the Bean library which is set to provide a magnificent new learning resource centre as well as a lecture theatre, social spaces and a café.  At Culford, the new library and resource centre complements the existing excellent facilities. This project is one of the largest of several that we have undertaken at the school over the last few years. The architecturally inspired building is already seen as an iconic addition forming the academic heart of the school and providing pupils with a new and inspiring space to come together, learn and study.

Staying with the education focus, we have also recently completed a Concertus designed scheme much closer to home in Ipswich, namely the Bridge School.  This project involved the construction of a new state-of-the-art primary school building on the existing occupied secondary campus. The Bridge School was previously housed on two sites, six miles apart, and caters for children aged three to 16 with special educational needs. Now that construction is complete the new accommodation allows the primary-aged children to join the existing secondary school students. As well as the superb facilities inside the building, every classroom has access to their own dedicated outdoor area, an outdoor science classroom, a sensory garden and play facilities. The design includes several sustainable features such as a biomass boiler, PV array, and maximised natural lighting and ventilation.
