Engineering Services for Buildings

Pharmaron

Progress continues at the Pharmaron site in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire to redevelop part of the second floor to create a series of new wet labs and write up areas.

Working closely with Bailey Gomm, Bower Fuller is providing the mechanical and electrical services including a new 17m3/s fume exhaust system installed using specialist polypropylene ductwork (see picture) to serve 45 fume cupboards. The 1250mm diameter ductwork shown is part of the final exhaust system from the twin centrifugal fans to the discharge flue sitting 6 metres above the roof line.

The coordination of the services within the building has played a major part in this project to ensure the large plant and systems can be accommodated in an existing floor plate and roof.
