We all know how important it is to maintain our properties and the services within. Our Special Projects team has been building up their planned preventative and reactive maintenance (PPM) portfolio with annual maintenance agreements in place for various schools, colleges, health centres, offices, and council properties. Recently, contracts have been signed with Hughes Hall University in Cambridge, the Innovation Centre at Essex University, the Treehouse Hospice for EACH, various schools across Essex and Suffolk, and three research buildings for the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB) in Cambridge to follow on from the successful completion of major new build schemes that Bower Fuller undertook for NIAB in partnership with main contractor SDC over the last couple of years.
PPM, also commonly referred to as scheduled maintenance, is essentially a planned maintenance routine to ensure building machinery, services, and equipment are all maintained at regular intervals. This helps to minimise partial or complete building failure and protect assets, thus mitigating against business interruption due to breakdowns and call outs.
