It was great to see so many Bower Fuller athletes turn out last Sunday to participate in the Great East Run on an un-typical warm September morning. Covering a full half marathon at 13.2 miles, Russell Langley, Jack Wilkinson, Dale Whitmore, Mike Eley, Christina Burrows and Ben Parker all took their place in various starting line ups, depending upon their predicted times. The event took the 4500 runners through Ipswich and out on Wherstead Road to do a loop around Freston village incorporating the steep and painful Freston Hill, returning to Ipswich to be cheered on by some great support including family, friends, colleagues and the public. All of the Bower Fuller runners hit their intended times and were very deserving of their medals.
A special congratulations to Ben Parker who has lost nearly 5½ stone in weight in less than 9 months to take part in his first half marathon and to our colleagues from other parts of our Group who also ran on the day
Really well done to all for taking part and raising funds for our Charity of the Year, AMEND.
