Sustainable Energy Applications

Bower Fuller has accrued considerable experience delivering projects with sustainable energy and energy saving requirements.
These include biomass boilers, ground and air source heat pumps, natural ventilation, solar, photovoltaic systems, rainwater
harvesting , presence detection systems and low water usage fittings.

Bower Fuller Head Office, Ipswich

Extension and refurbishment of Offices. To reduce energy consumption low energy lighting, heat recovery
ventilation and air source heat pumps were installed. This was supported by additional insulation to reduce
heat loss.

Rendlesham Primary School, Suffolk

Sustainable Energy measures included installation of a 150 Kw woodchip boiler and Solar water heating.
Together these provide the sole source of heat to the school.

Epping Woodland Memorial Site, Essex

A 60Kw woodchip boiler was installed, with the fuel being generated from the managed woodland
within which the devolpment resides.

Chantry School new changing and sports facilites, Ipswich

Primary source of energy for the hot water is solar heating; ventilation to the changing rooms is via PIR
activated inverter controls; lighting comprises low energy fittings with presence controls in the changing
areas and the showers water supply having percussion time control.

Abbots Green Community Primary School, Bury St Edmunds

Sustainable energy resources include rainwater recovery and associated greywater distribution to
toilets and solar hot water heating.

Stanway Secondary School, Colchester

Sustainable measures included passive ventilation system and solar hot water heating.

MSC New office facility, Ipswich

Designed to achive a "very good" BREEAM rating; measures include a 13m wind turbine; air source
heat pumps, low energy light fittings with presence detection and daylight correction, heat reclaim
ventiliation and low water usage fittings.

Snape Maltings

Snape Maltings Residential Flats and Retail Development, Aldeburgh

This 19 flat development contains a cental 500Kw woodchip boiler with a "walking floor" fuel delivery
system, suppling heat energy to every flat and retail area.
