Bower Fuller has continued its relationship with developer Amsprop and Main Contractor ISG in completing the full mechanical and electrical refurbishment of 5 Cheapside, St Pauls, London.
The works comprised the CAT A refurbishment of the basement through to 7th floor of the office space with retail space in the basement and ground floors and new plant areas in the basement and on the roof.
The mechanical works included 3 new AHU’s, 7 VRF systems incorporating 160 fan coil units, ventilation systems, LTHW systems, domestic services, drainage and dry risers. The electrical systems comprised new LG7 lighting installation, small power, fire alarms, door access and disabled user systems.
Due to the location of the site, co-ordination of deliveries was paramount as there was virtually no storage space on site.
The client’s design necessitated extremely restricted ceiling voids of approximately 260mm and therefore Bower Fuller had to carry out detailed co-ordination of the new services above the ceiling. Consequently, Bower Fuller chose to install the primary supply ductwork in Isover Climaver pre-insulated ductwork, which enabled the ductwork to be installed tight to the slab and therefore not require any space for applying the thermal insulation.
