Working closely with RG Carter Southern, Bower Fuller will be providing the design and installation of the mechanical and electrical services for a new “multi-modality diagnostic imaging unit,” or MMDIC as it is known. The new build, stand alone, two storey project will create three new MRI suites, a nuclear medicine scanner, gamma scanner and PET/CT scanner, along with all the associated ancillary areas to provide a state of the art diagnostic imaging unit, all under one roof.
The facility being commissioned by Alliance Medical will sit outside the existing A&E department at the Colchester Hospital. Once complete, the scheme will release space within the existing hospital to allow further remodelling and improvement works to be carried out.
Bower Fuller will bring all of its healthcare experience, from working at Addenbrookes, Ipswich, Norfolk & Norwich, and Princess Alexandra hospitals to ensure that the project is designed and delivered to the necessary standards and HTM’s.
